The Role As the Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of construction projects. Working closely with senior leadership, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, you will play a vital role in securing new work and ensuring projects are commercially viable from the outset. Continuity is essential as they look to grow their portfolio of business as well as a follow a clear commercial plan. Given the nature of the role and the growth plans for the division, you will have the opportunity to become a trusted advisor within the business and contribute to the strategic development of the estimating function. Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and tender submissions. * Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation. * Carry out material take-offs and quantity calculations. * Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers. * Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities. * Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the tender process. * Support negotiations and project handovers to operational teams. * Develop and maintain strong supply chain relationships. * Monitor labour, material, and market costs to ensure competitive pricing. * Contribute to the development of estimating processes within the new division. About You * Proven experience as a Construction Estimator. * Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and procurement processes. * Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. * Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail. * Strong analytical, numerical, and organisational skills. * Experience producing competitive and accurate tender submissions. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. * Self-motivated and capable of managing your own workload. Desirable * HNC/HND or Degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. * Experience working for a main contractor, specialist contractor, or fit-out business. * Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIOB or RICS.
