Job Purpose

To carry out electrical installation, testing, inspection, maintenance, and remedial works as part of a commercial insurance refurbishment project, ensuring all work complies with current regulations, project specifications, and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical Installation Works
    • Install containment systems including tray, trunking, conduit, basket, and cable management systems.
    • Install and terminate power, lighting, emergency lighting, and distribution circuits.
    • Install wiring and cabling in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
    • Install and connect distribution boards, isolators, switchgear, and associated equipment.
    • Carry out alterations and upgrades to existing electrical installations.
  • Refurbishment & Insurance Reinstatement Works
    • Remove damaged electrical installations affected by fire, flood, impact, or other insured events.
    • Assess existing installations and identify defects or non-compliant works.
    • Carry out reinstatement works to restore electrical services to pre-loss condition or current regulatory standards.
    • Liaise with site management regarding variations, defects, and additional works.
  • Documentation & Communication
    • Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
    • Complete daily work records and progress updates.
    • Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors to ensure programme requirements are met.
    • Attend site meetings and toolbox talks as required.

Required Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • City & Guilds 2365/2330 or equivalent.
  • BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
  • ECS/CSCS Card.
  • Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent) preferred.

Experience

  • Proven experience in commercial refurbishment projects.
  • Experience working on insurance reinstatement or fit-out projects desirable.
  • Competent in installation, fault finding, testing, and commissioning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
