Project Manager - Data Centre, ICT/Telecoms I am working on behalf of four different clients within mainland Europe with simular needs on a variety of sites including Frankfurt, Hamburg, Lisbon, Germany and Finland.

Our primary client is a leading provider of mission-critical infrastructure solutions, delivering complex Data Centre, ICT, Telecommunications and Network Infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their high-performing delivery team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded Project Manager with proven experience managing data centre, telecoms, ICT or structured cabling projects from handover through to successful completion and client acceptance.

The Role Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will take full ownership of projects following client handover, ensuring delivery through planning, resource coordination, installation, commissioning, handover and final close-out.

You will act as the primary interface between clients, internal delivery teams, engineering functions, subcontractors and key stakeholders, driving project success whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full project lifecycle from post-sales handover through to project close-out.
  • Deliver Data Centre, ICT, Telecommunications and Network Infrastructure projects safely, on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, delivery schedules, resource forecasts and risk registers.
  • Lead project kick-off meetings and ongoing stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate internal engineering, construction, installation and commissioning teams.
  • Monitor project performance against programme, budget and contractual deliverables.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers and third-party delivery partners.
  • Ensure all quality, HSE and compliance requirements are met throughout delivery.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, client acceptance and handover activities.
  • Deliver accurate project reporting, financial forecasting and progress updates.
  • Manage change control, project risks and issue resolution.
  • Conduct project reviews and lessons learned activities upon completion.

Technical Delivery Expertise The successful candidate will possess strong technical delivery experience across one or more of the following areas: Data Centre Construction and Technology Fit-Outs Structured Cabling Systems (Copper & Fibre) Telecommunications Infrastructure Enterprise Network Deployments Fibre Optic Installations ICT Infrastructure Projects LAN, WAN and Connectivity Solutions Mission-Critical Environments Smart Buildings and Digital Infrastructure You will have the ability to engage confidently with technical stakeholders, review engineering and design documentation, understand installation methodologies and manage testing and commissioning activities through to successful client sign-off.

Experience Required

  • Proven Project Management experience delivering Data Centre, ICT, Telecommunications or Infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrable experience managing projects from handover through commissioning and final close-out.
  • Strong technical understanding of structured cabling, fibre networks, telecommunications or ICT infrastructure.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and third-party suppliers.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for project budgets, forecasting and profitability.
  • Experience managing project risks, change control and contractual obligations.
  • Ability to work within fast-paced, customer-focused environments.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership and organisational skills. Desirable
  • Experience delivering projects within hyperscale, colocation or enterprise data centre environments.
  • Prince2, PMP, APM or equivalent Project Management qualification.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction Management, ICT or a related discipline.
  • SMSTS, CSCS or relevant site management certifications.
  • Experience overseeing commissioning and testing within mission-critical environments.
