FLI Water is on the lookout for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing in-house Design team. If you’re a recent graduate with around a year of experience and a passion for solving real-world challenges, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact.

We’re working on major AMP8 and AMP9 projects across the UK, helping tackle pollution and flooding through innovative wastewater solutions. You’ll be part of a collaborative, design team that takes projects from feasibility right through to detailed design and delivery
What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting the design and delivery of mechanical systems for wastewater treatment
* Producing technical outputs — specs, reports, schedules, and design documentation
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop smart, sustainable solutions
* Helping create 2D/3D drawings, P&IDs, general arrangements and equipment layouts.
* Conducting site surveys and contributing to safety reviews, DRAs, HAZOPs and ALMs
* Using tools like AutoCAD to bring designs to life
What We’re Looking For
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (IMechE-accredited preferred)
* Some hands-on experience in mechanical design — ideally in the water sector
* Familiarity with pumping systems, aeration systems, and CDM regulations
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* Willingness to travel to operational and construction sites when needed
