We are looking for a reliable and safety‑focused Mechanical Cleaner to support the cleaning, inspection and routine maintenance of pile cloth filter panels within our tertiary treatment process. This hands‑on role involves both manual and mechanical cleaning of filter cloths, removal of debris and sludge build‑up, checking for signs of wear or damage, and replacing cloths or panels when required.
You will work closely with site technicians to ensure the effective operation of the filters, helping to identify issues such as blockages, reduced flow or abnormal performance, and supporting efficiency to meet permit standards. The role also requires accurate record‑keeping, safe use of cleaning and lifting equipment, correct handling of chemicals under COSHH, and maintaining high housekeeping standards across site. A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance is essential.
You must be confident working safely around open water, moving machinery and within restricted areas, following PUWER, COSHH and Health & Safety at Work regulations.
- Green CSCS Card (minimum)
- Confined Space Training @One Safety Passport (4‑hour online course – we can arrange this if needed)
- Experience working on Wastewater Treatment Works is highly desirable
