This chef post sits in the Catering team of Vertas, an integrated facilities management provider, at its High Lodge site. The role centres on preparing and serving good-quality food to site standards, running a cooking station and keeping stock ordered. Hours are 30 a week across four days, 8am to 4pm, on a rota that includes weekends, school holidays and bank holidays. Proven chef experience and the right to work in the UK decide fit, and the post needs an enhanced DBS check.
What the job involves
- Preparing food day to day to meet site standards
- Managing a cooking station and getting food out on time
- Following safety and hygiene practice with equipment, utensils and food storage
- Keeping ingredients fresh and reordering stock when supplies run low
- Cleaning
- Working with the culinary team to keep quality and service up through the shift
