Senior z/OS Systems Programmer needed for a hands-on contract role delivering upgrades, performance tuning, and complex mainframe problem-solving. We need a senior, hands-on z/OS Systems Programmer to support and optimise our IBM mainframe environment. You’ll lead SMP/E, JES2, WLM, performance tuning, and complex issue resolution. Strong REXX/JCL and the ability to deliver independently are essential.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and optimise z/OS, JES2, WLM, TCP/IP, RACF integration, and core subsystems
  • Lead SMP/E, IPL planning, PARMLIB updates, and system upgrades
  • Troubleshoot high-priority production and performance issues
  • Manage DASD, catalogues, HCD/HCM, and I/O config

Tooling Experience (Broadcom or Equivalent)

Experience with Broadcom/CA, BMC, IBM, ASG or similar mainframe tooling in areas such as system management, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
