The firm serves a diverse client base, including investors, developers, landlords, tenants, and corporate occupiers. You will join the Commercial Property / Real Estate team and be responsible for managing your own caseload. Key duties will include:
- Handling acquisitions and disposals (freehold & leasehold) of commercial properties.
- Drafting, negotiating, and advising on leases (landlord/tenant) including renewals, surrenders, rent reviews.
- Advising on property finance, development / site purchase, possibly secured lending.
- Working with corporate teams on property aspects of business sales or acquisitions.
- Working with external stakeholders: agents, surveyors, planning authorities, etc.
- Maintaining strong client relationships; providing technically sound, commercially aware advice.
- Keeping up to date with property law developments, Land Registry, environmental or planning law where relevant.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (with practising certificate).
- PQE level: typically 5-10 years (or else as specified) in commercial property / real estate law.
- Proven experience with freehold & leasehold transactions, landlord & tenant matters.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, communication skills.
- Ability to manage your own caseload and meet deadlines.
- Commercial awareness, client-focused approach.
Desirable:
- Experience in property finance or development work.
- Experience in higher value / London / large-scale transactions.
- Supervisory or mentoring experience.
- Experience in using modern case management / legal tech systems.
