You will join the Commercial Property / Real Estate team and be responsible for managing your own caseload. Key duties will include:

  • Handling acquisitions and disposals (freehold & leasehold) of commercial properties.
  • Drafting, negotiating, and advising on leases (landlord/tenant) including renewals, surrenders, rent reviews.
  • Advising on property finance, development / site purchase, possibly secured lending.
  • Working with corporate teams on property aspects of business sales or acquisitions.
  • Working with external stakeholders: agents, surveyors, planning authorities, etc.
  • Maintaining strong client relationships; providing technically sound, commercially aware advice.
  • Keeping up to date with property law developments, Land Registry, environmental or planning law where relevant.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (with practising certificate).
  • PQE level: typically 5-10 years (or else as specified) in commercial property / real estate law.
  • Proven experience with freehold & leasehold transactions, landlord & tenant matters.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, communication skills.
  • Ability to manage your own caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness, client-focused approach.

Desirable:

  • Experience in property finance or development work.
  • Experience in higher value / London / large-scale transactions.
  • Supervisory or mentoring experience.
  • Experience in using modern case management / legal tech systems.
