HR Manager (Part-Time)

We’re looking for an HR Manager to support our team and protect the culture we’ve built.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a part-time HR Manager to help build the structure that allows our culture to scale with intention. We’ve built a team that is human, tolerant and empathetic. That flexibility is a strength. But as we evolve, it needs a system to support it.

The role isn’t to introduce unnecessary process. It’s to bring clarity and consistency to how we operate – making sure people feel supported, issues are handled properly and the business has systems that work, without diluting what makes VERSUS distinct.
You’ll work directly with the CEO and leadership team, acting as a calm and consistent presence across the business.

You’ll be responding to advertising briefs from media agencies and clients with original, creative solutions that are rooted in VERSUS’ signature football-culture lens. As part of this process, you’ll be producing written content for VERSUS sales proposals, identifying and sourcing talent/influencers for creative campaigns, and building full proposal decks with compelling visuals.

You will work under the supervision of our Chief Commercial Officer; and in collaboration with the rest of our commercial team. You’ll also be liaising with brand and agency contacts throughout the sales and campaign delivery process.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Drafting and implementing an Employee Handbook and core HR policies (disciplinary, grievance, parental leave, flexible working and performance frameworks)
• Ensuring contracts and documentation are consistent, compliant and reflective of how we operate
• Acting as first point of contact for minor grievances and people matters
• Running structured, documented processes when issues arise
• Advising leadership on fair, proportionate and legally sound responses
• Building a clear onboarding journey with 30 / 60 / 90 day check-ins
• Owning recruitment administration for 5–10 hires per year, including application workflow, interview coordination and offer documentation
• Removing hiring admin from senior leadership so they can focus on building
• Introducing simple systems or HR tools where they genuinely improve efficiency
• Helping translate VERSUS’ culture into clear behavioural expectations that protect both individuals and the business

Our requirements:

• A good understanding of, and contacts within, the youth culture media space, with brands, agencies, and talent
• An in-depth and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of contemporary culture across key Gen Z passion points, eg: football, music, style, gaming, etc.
• A passion for the VERSUS brand
• Ability to think creatively and strategically
• Excellent writing skills including a good knowledge of PowerPoint and/or Keynote
• Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work under pressure and within short deadlines.
• 5+ years’ experience in a HR Manager or HR Generalist role
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law
• Experience supporting founder-led or creative businesses
• Calm, discreet and emotionally intelligent
• Comfortable working autonomously
• Able to balance empathy with firmness
