Role Description The Team Leader role is a full-time, on-site position based in Ringwood, overseeing day-to-day grounds maintenance activities across commercial sites. This role includes planning and allocating tasks for the team, supervising quality of work, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to agreed standards. The Team Leader will operate and oversee use of grounds maintenance equipment, coordinate site visits, and maintain clear communication with clients and office staff. Responsibilities include monitoring schedules, reporting issues or site needs, training and guiding team members, and promoting professional conduct and presentation on every visit. The role also involves basic record-keeping such as job completion notes, equipment checks, and adherence to health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping, including grass cutting, hedge and shrub care, weed control, and general exterior cleaning.
- Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to supervise, motivate, and train team members while managing daily workloads and priorities.
- Practical knowledge of operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment and tools, with a commitment to safe working practices.
- Good communication and customer service skills, able to represent the company professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, with sound time management and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence and reliable transport to Ringwood and surrounding areas.
- Previous experience in commercial grounds maintenance or site care is highly beneficial.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to grounds work; formal training or certifications are an advantage.
