Technical Sales Engineer – Biotech
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000
Location: Lancashire
We are working exclusively with our client, a global leader in biotechnology solutions, to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer – Biotech. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated sales professional with a scientific background to take ownership of business growth across Northern Europe, focusing on the Biotech sector.
Reporting to the EMEA Sales Manager, you\’ll play a key role in driving direct sales, supporting distributors, and building long-term relationships with key accounts. You\’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure the customer\’s voice is heard within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and sell the company\’s product portfolio to drive adoption across the Northern European biotech market.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, maintaining accurate CRM records and forecasts.
- Prospect and identify new business opportunities while supporting existing distributor networks.
- Deliver engaging sales presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals.
- Maintain excellent post-sales relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Partner with marketing teams to grow brand awareness through events, campaigns, and product launches.
- Collaborate with colleagues across sales, marketing, and product to shape pricing, positioning, and strategy.
Essential:
- BSc in Biotechnology, Cell Biology or related field (MSc/PhD advantageous).
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused, collaborative, and team-oriented approach.
- Based in the UK, ideally with good access to an international airport.
Desirable:
- 1–2 years of sales experience.
- Knowledge of the biotechnology industry and bioprocessing solutions.
- Familiarity with CRM systems.
- Experience within an employee-owned business would be a plus.
