The Opportunity
We're working with an innovative and fast-growing technology business that is scaling its manufacturing operations following significant investment and increased customer demand. They are looking for a Procurement Manager to take ownership of procurement and supply chain activities as the business continues to grow. This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to build and improve processes, strengthen supplier relationships and directly support the company's manufacturing operation.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented completer-finisher who is equally comfortable managing day-to-day purchasing activity and implementing new systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a robust purchasing system covering quotations, purchase orders, goods receipt, inspection, invoice reconciliation and stock management.
- Introduce more efficient, demand-driven purchasing and replenishment processes.
- Manage supplier relationships, procurement risk and commercial negotiations.
- Lead cost-reduction initiatives and identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency.
- Own stock replenishment and ensure materials are available to support manufacturing.
- Monitor key procurement metrics, including costs, inventory levels, cash flow and supplier performance.
- Work closely with Finance to maintain accurate procurement data and forecasts.
- Manage third-party logistics activities.
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Operations to ensure materials are available in line with production requirements.
About You
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or a closely related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine completer-finisher approach.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Commercially minded, with experience managing suppliers and negotiating terms.
- Comfortable identifying and managing supply chain risks.
- Experience of implementing processes, systems or business improvements would be advantageous.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, growing environment and balance strategic improvements with hands-on operational responsibilities.
