Lead Manufacturing Technician Location: Royston, Hertfordshire Salary: Up to £32,000 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent A growing technology business is looking for a Lead Manufacturing Technician to join its manufacturing team in Royston. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced technician to take on a lead role, supporting the build, testing, fault-finding, repair and continuous improvement of complex electromechanical products. You will also provide day-to-day guidance to a team of technicians, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard. The Role Working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, you will support day-to-day production while helping improve processes, documentation and technician capability. The role will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on but is also ready to take on greater responsibility for a team and help drive manufacturing performance. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day supervision and support to the technician team Build, test, modify and repair electromechanical products Provide technical support during manufacturing and assembly Fault-find and diagnose issues systematically Support repairs and maintenance at operational and customer sites Create and improve manufacturing processes and documentation Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste Maintain safety, quality and 5S standards Support technician training and skills development Ensure agreed processes and standards are followed Work closely with engineering teams to develop new processes Help maintain accurate production and performance records What We're Looking For Several years' experience as a technician within a manufacturing environment Previous team leadership or supervisory experience Strong practical mechanical and electrical skills Experience assembling, modifying, fault-finding and repairing electromechanical systems Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics Able to use standard workshop and engineering equipment Understanding of sensors, motors, actuators, wiring, connectors and mechanical assemblies Methodical approach to fault-finding and problem solving Good attention to detail and a practical, hands-on attitude Computer literate Full clean UK driving licence Eligible to work in the UK What's on Offer?
