An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing European technology company operating within the photonics sector. As part of an ambitious UK expansion strategy, we are seeking two Sales Engineers to help drive growth and develop new business opportunities across the UK market. They are planning to hire one Sales Engineer to focus on the South UK and one for the North. This role offers the chance to work with innovative technologies and customers operating at the forefront of engineering, research and advanced manufacturing.
Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships and helping to grow the company's UK presence. You will engage with customers across a variety of high-technology industries, helping them find solutions to complex technical challenges. Strong engineering support is available, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships and developing business without needing to be a deep technical specialist.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities across the UK
- Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers
- Managing the sales process from initial contact through to order placement
- Attending customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events
- Working closely with internal engineering and commercial teams
- Contributing to the company's ambitious UK growth plans
About You:
We are looking for ambitious, driven and commercially minded individuals who want to build a successful career in technical sales. You may already have experience in internal sales, field sales or technical sales, or you could be a recent graduate looking to launch your career in a commercial environment.
Ideal candidates will have:
- A degree in Physics, Engineering or a related technical discipline (preferred but not essential)
- An interest in photonics, optics, electronics or advanced technologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach to generating and winning new business
- The ability to build relationships with customers at all levels
- A willingness to travel throughout the UK
