We’re recruiting a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical system design for advanced machinery and automation projects. This is a senior role with responsibility for design leadership, architecture, safety compliance, and mentoring a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design of complex machinery and automated systems.
- Own system architecture, design decisions, and technical direction.
- Run design reviews and ensure high engineering standards.
- Ensure designs meet required safety standards, such as ISO 12100, ISO 13849, EN 60204, BS EN 61010.
- Provide technical mentoring and support to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Work closely with mechanical, software, and systems teams.
- Improve design processes, documentation, and best practice.
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in electrical design for machinery or automation.
- Proven experience designing to ISO 12100, ISO 13849, EN 60204, BS EN 61010.
- Ability to lead architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making.
- Experience mentoring or guiding engineers.
- Proficient with electrical CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
- Strong understanding of functional safety and machinery safety requirements.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
