A long‑established engineering and technology company is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to take ownership of digital hardware development across its next generation of high‑performance products. This is a hands‑on, influential role, working from concept through to production. You’ll be responsible for designing complex digital circuits, delivering high‑speed digital solutions, and ensuring robust performance across demanding environments. You’ll collaborate closely with firmware, software, and systems teams to bring new platforms to life and support continuous product evolution.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Hardware Design Engineer
- Design and develop digital hardware for new and existing products, from initial concept through to release.
- Deliver high‑speed digital designs, including DDR, SERDES, and high‑bandwidth interfaces.
- Produce schematics, select components, and work with PCB layout engineers to ensure signal integrity and manufacturability.
- Perform hardware bring‑up, validation, and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and other lab equipment.
- Collaborate with firmware and software teams to ensure seamless integration and early issue resolution.
- Support EMC, compliance testing, and design-for-manufacture activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across design processes, documentation, and hardware platforms.
About You
- Strong experience in digital hardware design within engineering or technology environments.
- Proven background in high‑speed digital design, including memory interfaces, high‑speed buses, and complex digital architectures.
- Confident working with schematic capture tools, PCB design workflows, and lab‑based debugging.
- Solid understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and high‑speed layout considerations.
- Analytical, detail‑driven, and comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with high‑speed digital interfaces, FPGA‑based systems, or mixed‑signal design is highly advantageous.
