We’re recruiting a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical system design for advanced machinery and automation projects. This is a senior role with responsibility for design leadership, architecture, safety compliance, and mentoring a small team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design of complex machinery and automated systems.
  • Own system architecture, design decisions, and technical direction.
  • Run design reviews and ensure high engineering standards.
  • Ensure designs meet required safety standards, such as ISO 12100, ISO 13849, EN 60204, BS EN 61010.
  • Provide technical mentoring and support to junior and mid‑level engineers.
  • Work closely with mechanical, software, and systems teams.
  • Improve design processes, documentation, and best practice.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in electrical design for machinery or automation.
  • Proven experience designing to ISO 12100, ISO 13849, EN 60204, BS EN 61010.
  • Ability to lead architecture, design reviews, and technical decision‑making.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding engineers.
  • Proficient with electrical CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of functional safety and machinery safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
