We’re working with an established technology business developing sophisticated connected electronic products for international markets. They’re now looking to strengthen their engineering team with a Senior Embedded Software Engineer who can take ownership of embedded development, secure connectivity and cybersecurity across their product portfolio.
This is a hands-on engineering role rather than a purely architectural or managerial position. You’ll be writing production code, solving complex technical problems and working closely with hardware, firmware, software, test and compliance teams.
The role:
You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing secure, network-connected functionality within embedded products.
Your work will include:
- Designing and developing embedded software for connected products
- Writing, reviewing, testing and maintaining production-quality code
- Implementing secure communication protocols
- Working with networking technologies and RFC-based networking principles
- Developing low-level software and device drivers
- Working with peripherals including SPI, I2C, I2S and UART
- Contributing to software architecture, design reviews and technical problem solving
What We're Looking For:
Experienced in embedded software development, with a strong background in connected, wireless or other high-technology products.
We’re particularly interested in engineers with:
- Strong Embedded C and C++ experience
- Experience developing production code for real-time embedded systems
- Experience with network-connected products and TCP/IP, Ethernet, UDP, IP networking, HTTP/S or similar protocols
- Practical experience implementing secure communications or cybersecurity functionality
- ARM Cortex-M or similar microcontroller experience
- RTOS experience such as FreeRTOS, ThreadX or Azure RTOS
- Bare-metal development and low-level driver development experience
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join a highly technical engineering environment where embedded software is central to the development of the company's next generation of products.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across embedded software, networking, cybersecurity and hardware, while having significant ownership over the solutions you develop.
If you’re an experienced Embedded Software Engineer who enjoys getting close to the technology and wants to work on genuinely interesting connected products, we’d be keen to hear from you.
