Ready to lead the development of complex embedded electronic products from concept through to production? We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in firmware and hardware New Product Development (NPD) to join an innovative technology business developing next-generation electronic products. This is not a generalist project management role. We are specifically looking for someone who understands the realities of embedded systems development, including firmware, electronics hardware, product validation, and engineering-led NPD environments.

You will play a key role in driving technically complex R&D and NPI projects, working closely with firmware engineers, hardware engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality electronic products to market.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing full lifecycle NPD projects for embedded electronic products, from concept through development, validation, and production release
  • Leading cross-functional engineering activities across Firmware, Hardware, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams
  • Driving project execution within an R&D environment focused on electronics and embedded systems
  • Coordinating technical development activities including prototype builds, verification testing, design reviews, and product introduction
  • Managing project plans, timelines, risks, dependencies, budgets, and stakeholder communication
  • Running project meetings and engineering reviews, ensuring alignment across technical teams and senior leadership
  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and transition from development into manufacture
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required technical and quality standards

Qualifications:

  • Proven Project Management experience within electronic product development
  • Strong experience managing Firmware and Hardware development projects
  • Background working in embedded systems, electronics, or engineering-led R&D environments
  • Strong understanding of engineering development processes for electronic products
  • Ability to work effectively with Firmware Engineers, Electronics Engineers, and multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent technical projects and stakeholders
  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification
  • Agile or hybrid development methodology experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Jira, or SharePoint
  • Familiarity with regulated or high-reliability product development environments
