Job Title: Contract Quality Engineer Location: Colchester Rate: £40 to 50 per hour Employment Type: 3–6 Month Contract Working Arrangements: Onsite IR35: Indicative Outside We’re looking for an experienced Contract Quality Engineer to support a busy manufacturing site in Colchester during a key period of ISO 9001 audit preparation and QMS improvement. This is a hands-on contract for someone who can hit the ground running, identify gaps and put practical improvements in place. The Role - Drive ISO 9001 audit readiness and close identified gaps - Review and improve QMS documentation, procedures and work instructions - Support corrective actions, evidence gathering and audit preparation - Ensure quality records and processes are accurate, controlled and up to date - Work closely with production, engineering and management to improve quality standards Experience required for the Contract Quality Engineer - Proven Quality Engineering experience within manufacturing - Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and QMS - Experience with audit preparation, documentation and corrective actions - A hands-on, practical approach with the ability to work independently - Confidence to quickly assess a situation and drive improvements The Contract - 3 to 6 month, high-impact assignment - Onsite in Colchester - Immediate opportunity to make a tangible difference - Autonomy to improve processes and strengthen the QMS If you’re an experienced contract/interim Quality Engineer who can quickly get under the skin of a manufacturing operation, identify what needs fixing and drive it through to completion, we’d like to hear from you.
