Manufacturing Engineer – Electronic/Electro-Mechanical products Are you a seasoned Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for driving process improvements and ensuring product quality? This role offers a unique chance to make a significant impact within a dynamic production environment. This is a great opportunity because this will be the first Manufacturing Engineer the company has employed. They have a production team of 10 people, including a Supervisor and Assemblers. Previously, the R&D team have supported production with NPI and designing jigs, fixates and tooling etc. Now they are looking to hire a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to take on those duties and take ownership of the manufacturing processes, so it’s a great opportunity to take ownership of that and have a big impact on the business with a lot of autonomy. Manufacturing Engineer – Electronic/Electro-Mechanical products – Role Overview: As a Manufacturing Engineer, your primary mission is to provide robust technical support to production operations. This involves developing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality, cost-efficiency, and on-time delivery. You will play a pivotal role in resolving day-to-day production issues, supporting product build and assembly, and ensuring that all processes are stable, documented, and continuously improved. Key Responsibilities – Manufacturing Engineer – Electronic/Electro-Mechanical products: Manufacturing Process Engineering: Provide daily technical support, design and optimise manufacturing processes, and collaborate with various teams to ensure manufacturability. Quality & Compliance: Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with quality standards, investigate non-conformances, and implement corrective actions. Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, utilising data-driven tools to identify and drive performance improvements. Project Support: Support the introduction of new products and process changes, collaborating with the Project Management team to deliver projects in alignment with QCD objectives. Skills and Experience Required – Manufacturing Engineer – Electronic/Electro-Mechanical products: Experience in a manufacturing engineering role for electronic/electro-mech products. Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling, able to design jigs/fixtures, tooling and production aids. Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001), lean manufacturing, and root cause analysis tools. Excellent understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Assembly (DfA) methods. Proven experience with a variety of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, vacuum forming, machining, and PCB assembly.
