Key Account Manager

£70,000–£80,000 + car + OTE + benefits
About the Role
A fast-growing UK technology manufacturer is seeking a commercially driven Key Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of high-value, global customer relationships across specialist industrial electronics product areas.
This is fundamentally a Head of Key Accounts position (with no direct reports), but we are looking for someone operating at the seniority of an Account Director or highly experienced Lead/ Principal Key Account Manager , with the credibility and experience to manage complex, multinational accounts and engage confidently with senior stakeholders up to C-suite level.
You’ll be joining at a key stage of growth within a rapidly expanding organisation, with genuine scope to influence how strategic accounts are managed globally.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of strategic global customers, ensuring best-in-class relationship management, commercial growth, and long-term partnership development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership and development of strategic, high-value global accounts
- Building strong, long-term relationships with senior stakeholders up to C-suite level
- Managing technical quotations from enquiry through to completion
- Identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities across multiple product lines
- Working closely with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical/customer issues
- Leading commercial negotiations, pricing agreements, and supply arrangements
- Maintaining accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM discipline
- Delivering a consistently high-quality customer experience across all touchpoints
- Contributing to account strategy, structure, and scalable processes
- Supporting the future development of a growing key account function
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong experience in Key Account Management or Account Director-level roles
- Background in industrial electronics, electronic components, connectivity, instrumentation, or engineered technical products
- Proven success managing large, multinational / enterprise-level customers
- Experience selling complex technical solutions into engineering-led organisations
- A consultative, strategic approach to account development and relationship building
- A track record of delivering sustained revenue growth within key accounts
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders across procurement, engineering, and commercial teams
- Bonus: exposure to channel or distribution partner ecosystems
- Confidence operating autonomously at senior level with full commercial ownership
