Overview Electronics Design Engineer — Portland, Dorset — Up to £55,000 + excellent benefits. Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (essential).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and developing electronic solutions, from architecture through to detailed design.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Considering design for manufacture and test to ensure smooth production handover.
  • Integrating and testing systems, including hands-on fault finding and troubleshooting.
  • Working with external test houses to achieve CE / UKCA and MoD compliance.
  • Producing high-quality technical documentation (schematics, BOMs, change notes).
  • Providing occasional offsite support for installation and maintenance activities.

What you’ll need:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (essential).
  • Broad experience across analogue and digital circuit design, ideally including:
  • Low-noise power supply and distribution circuitry
  • Analogue signal conditioning
  • Data acquisition systems
  • Digital interfacing and FPGA-based control
  • Understanding of design for EMC compliance.
