You will lead investigations into electrochemical sensing technologies for implantable systems, supporting activities including:
- Experimental characterisation and evaluation of electrochemical sensing technologies
- Investigation and modelling of transducers, reference electrodes, and measurement circuitry
- Design and development of experimental test rigs and laboratory set-ups
- Experimental design, verification testing, and performance characterisation
- Scientific programming and data analysis using Matlab and Python
- Technical reporting, invention disclosures, and IP generation
- Supporting and mentoring junior researchers
Qualifications
- A PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years' experience within practical research or advanced R&D environments
- A strong track record of scientific contribution through publications, patents, or technology development
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of electrochemical biosensors and electrochemistry
- Experience with experimental electrochemistry and sensor characterisation
- Experience with modelling and simulation tools such as SPICE, Altium, or Verilog-A
- Strong analytical and experimental problem-solving capability
- Experience in implantable devices, biocompatible materials, electronics miniaturisation, physiology, wireless systems, or related technologies would be advantageous
