Job Description
S4 is the programme name for the implementation of SAP S/4 HANA at NIE Networks. It is a generational opportunity to improve our core systems and far beyond a technical upgrade: if we simply re-implement what we do now on new technology, we will have failed! This programme is a fundamental enabler of the business transformation that is already underway within NIE Networks and will work closely with other enterprise and CIO programmes.

Stage 1, Detailed Discovery & Procurement of SI
1) Detailed Discovery Phase: To refine the scope and define the require
Objective: To design and implement SAP systems that align with NIE Networks business goals and deliver desired benefits.
Responsibilities:
General
Operationally dedicated to the S4 Programme and working closely with S4 SRO, Programme Manager and Applications Architect in successfully delivering the Stage 1 & 2 project objectives.
To drive and deliver S4 programme principles within the S4 Programme, the CIO Architect team and overall CIO and advocate S4 inputs to align with enterprise architecture.
To have ongoing engagement within the S4 Programme, the CIO and impacted business areas to ensure that the full SAP solution is accurately represented and fully understood.
To stay up-to-date with SAP product developments and innovations and practical customer applications and share this within NIE Networks.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
Experience in a product consulting, system integration or architect role:
- A minimum of 10 years experience in SAP
A minimum of 5 years experience in SAP S/4 HANA
Participation in more than 2 separate projects, including at least 1 in the role of SAP Solution Architect, in the past 5 years, with a minimum of 1 full cycle implementation
Working knowledge of:
- SAP-compatible security, integration and reporting solutions
SAP Fiori
SAP standard methodologies
SAP licensing metrics
Excellent leadership skills
Team management experience during complex project delivery
Ability to respectfully challenge proposals which deviate from programme principles and fully justify any deviations from standard recommended by this role
Ability to work self-sufficiently and in a team environment, as an informed and trusted leader and advisor
Proven ability for making, and delivering upon, informed decisions in line with principles and strategies
Excellent communication skills, proven at senior steering, operational, team and technical levels.
Desirable Criteria
Relevant 3rd level qualification
Working knowledge of the following SAP functional areas: core Finance, Procurement and Stores as well as Utilities including metering services, meter reading and market operations and new connections.
Certification in S/4 HANA, BASIS or other SAP solutions
Relevant utilities sector experience
SAP S/4 HANA Utilities experience
Experience of a range of transition approaches: brown, blue, greenfield.
Experience of migrating to SAP cloud-hosted solutions: RISE and non-RISE
Skills and experience in:
- SAP security, integration and reporting solutions
SAP-recommended or equivalent project tooling including architecture, process, data, testing, training
