Job Description

The Senior Technical Business Analyst is responsible for bridging business needs with technical solutions by analysing systems, defining requirements, and driving process and system improvements.

This role requires strong technical understanding to support solution design, system integrations, and collaboration with development teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and prioritise requirements, translating them into detailed functional and technical specifications
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, system optimisation, and automation
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead workshops to define business and system requirements

• Produce high-quality documentation, including

  • Functional Specifications
  • Technical Requirements
  • Process Flows / Data Mapping Documents
  • Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to define solution design and ensure feasibility
  • Support system integration efforts, including APIs, data flows, and third‑party systems
  • Ensure alignment between business expectations and technical delivery throughout the project lifecycle
  • Validate solutions, ensuring they are fit for purpose and technically sound
  • Support UAT planning and execution, ensuring requirements are fully met before release
  • Assist in release planning and cutover activities, minimizing business disruption
  • Drive delivery within tight timelines, ensuring effective cross‑team collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across business and IT at all levels

This role requires eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance.

To be eligible, you must have the right to work in the UK and will have resided in the UK for at least 5 years. Qualifications

Experience & Skills Required

  • Experience as a Senior Business Analyst, with significant exposure to technical environments, working to the GOV. UK Service Standard or within the public sector
  • Strong experience in writing detailed functional and technical specifications
  • Proven experience working on system implementations, integrations, or digital transformation initiatives

• Hands‑on experience or strong understanding of

  • SQL / Data Analysis
  • APIs and system integrations
  • Data modelling / data mapping
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary team including User Centred Design colleagues.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
  • Experience in change management and process transformation
