Overview

As a Data Specialist, you will shape enterprise data and analytics solutions across projects and business units. You will design scalable data pipelines, models and warehouses to enable data-driven decision making. You’ll work with Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Power BI to transform data and build dashboards that inform strategic initiatives. This role sits at the crossroads of data engineering and business impact, helping the organization scale data capabilities while upholding governance and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models and data warehouse solutions
  • Build and support ETL/ELT processes integrating multiple source systems
  • Develop and maintain solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse and Power BI
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and insights
  • Create dashboards and analytics for business and operations decision-making
  • Design and optimize data models and datasets
  • Use Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis
  • Support and enhance data solutions as they scale
  • Utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD, builds, releases and testing
  • Apply data governance standards, including GDPR, and work in an Agile environment

Key requirements

  • 4–6 years' experience in Data Specialist/Data Engineering or closely related role
  • At least 2 years' experience in a lead capacity
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory
  • Strong experience with Azure Synapse
  • Strong experience with Power BI or equivalent BI/reporting technologies
  • Advanced SQL and database experience
  • Experience using Python for data manipulation and analysis
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
  • Experience designing and developing data warehouses and data architectures
  • Strong data modelling experience with complex datasets
  • Experience using Azure DevOps and CI/CD/build and release processes
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams
  • Understanding of data governance and GDPR
  • Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
  • Microsoft certification in Data Analysis, Data Engineering or equivalent
  • Primary degree in a relevant Technology/IT discipline, NFQ Level 7 or equivalent
  • Native-level English or CEFR C2 proficiency
