We are looking for Community Managers to build and sustain a thriving cross-government community of practice around AI coding tools. You will connect practitioners across departments, facilitate knowledge sharing, and help drive adoption from early experimentation to confident daily use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and grow the community: Identify and engage developers, architects, and technical leads across central government who are using or interested in AI coding tools. Create channels, forums, and touchpoints that bring people together.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing: Organise and run events including show‑and‑tells, lunch‑and‑learns, Q&A sessions, and online discussions. Surface and amplify success stories, tips, and practical insights from across the community.
  • Support adoption: Help practitioners move from awareness to active use. Identify and address barriers, connect people with the right resources, and celebrate progress.
  • Identify and enable champions: Spot enthusiastic early adopters and help them become advocates within their own teams and departments.
  • C curate and communicate: Produce regular communications (newsletters, digests, updates) that keep the community informed and engaged. Make guidance and resources easy to find and understand.
  • Feed insights back: Gather and synthesise feedback from practitioners about what’s working, what’s blocking progress, and what’s needed. Ensure the programme team has the intelligence they need to adapt.
Qualifications
  • Experience building, growing, or managing professional communities or networks
  • Strong facilitation skills with experience running events, workshops, or forums
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage technical audiences
  • Ability to work across organisational boundaries and influence without direct authority
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
Desirable
  • Familiarity with software development practices and culture (you don’t need to code, but should understand how developers work)
  • Experience working in or with government digital teams
  • Understanding of change management principles
  • Interest in AI and emerging technologies
