Version 1 has celebrated 30 years in business and continues to be trusted by global brands to deliver technology and transformation solutions that drive customer success. Our deep expertise enables our customers to navigate the rapidly evolving technology landscape. We foster strong partnerships with global technology leaders including Microsoft, AWS, Oracle, Red Hat, OutSystems, Snowflake, ensuring that our customers are provided with the highest quality solutions and services.

You may have been working as a Test Engineer, Cloud Test Engineer, or Platform Test Engineer with experience validating cloud-hosted platforms and services in secure or regulated environments. You are comfortable working across infrastructure, integration, and quality assurance activities, and you understand what it takes to test systems that need to be resilient, secure, and operationally ready before they go anywhere near production.

You will be embedded with platform engineers, architects, DevSecOps teams, and security specialists, helping to ensure that cloud-native solutions operating within secure private cloud environments meet the highest standards of assurance. This is not a checkbox testing role — the environments are complex, the stakes are high, and the quality bar is set accordingly.

You may also get involved with:

  • Testing and assurance activities across cloud-native platforms, infrastructure, deployments, and platform configurations running in secure GCP and private cloud environments
  • Validating integrations, service interactions, and platform behaviour under realistic conditions, including resilience and failure scenarios
  • Contributing to automated testing and continuous testing practices within CI/CD pipelines
  • Supporting integration, operational readiness, and deployment assurance activities ahead of release
  • Defect analysis, root cause investigation, and feeding findings back into continuous improvement
  • Contributing to testing standards, tooling decisions, and quality engineering approaches across delivery teams
  • Supporting compliance, audit, and accreditation evidence requirements within secure delivery environments

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a Test Engineer, Cloud Test Engineer, or Platform Test Engineer role, with a track record of testing cloud-hosted or cloud-native platforms and services
  • Practical experience working within secure, regulated, or government delivery environments, and an understanding of what that means for testing approach, tooling constraints, and assurance requirements
  • Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps delivery practices, and how testing fits within them
  • Familiarity with GCP or equivalent cloud platforms, including how infrastructure, platform services, and applications interact
  • Understanding of Kubernetes, containerised platforms, and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts such as Terraform — enough to test against them meaningfully
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment approaches, and how automated testing integrates into them
  • Broad coverage across functional, integration, regression, and non-functional testing approaches
  • API and service testing experience, including the ability to validate service interactions and data integrity
  • Ability to analyse defects and quality risks within complex, multi-component environments and communicate findings clearly
  • Awareness of secure software delivery, operational assurance, and resilience testing principles
  • Based within commuting distance of London and available to work on-site at the client office three days per week
  • Resident in the UK for five or more years with no more than 30 days per year out of the UK to meet Security Clearance (SC) eligibility, or currently holding SC or above. Willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) is required for this role
  • Exposure to Google Distributed Cloud or air-gapped private cloud environments would be a significant advantage, as would experience with performance, resilience, or security testing and any Google Cloud or testing-related certifications
