Job Description:

YOU MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR BPSS CLEARANCE. THERE WILL BE AN ON-CALL ROTA (1 IN EVERY 4 WEEKS).

Here at Version 1, we are currently in the market for an experienced Lead Oracle Applications E-Business Database Administrator to join our growing Managed Services Practice. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest cloud technology and work on projects across a multiplicity of sectors and industries. In addition, you will have the opportunity to undertake accreditations and educational assistance for courses relevant to your role.

Qualifications:

  • Providing day to day DBA support for multiple customers
  • Leading and overseeing standard DBA support tasks for Oracle EBS Versions 11i, 12.1.3 and 12.2.x - Issues, Cloning, Patching etc
  • RMAN backups, performance issue fixes, Shell Scripting, TLS and jar signing certificate implementations
  • External access configuration, load balancing and shared filesystems
  • Supporting OCI PaaS applications and databases
  • Creation, update, and resolution of Oracle service requests (SRs)
  • Working with technical and functional consultants to deliver client requirements
  • Liaising directly with customers to ensure all requests for change are properly designed, assessed, prioritized, and managed through to completion
  • Identifying persistent problems and work with key stakeholders to address the root causes
  • Disaster Recovery site maintenance and participation in regular DR tests
  • Conduct DB /OS health check ups
  • ITIL Process Knowledge, preferably ITIL Foundation certified
  • Ability to research, learn, troubleshoot, and support complex systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Assisting with transitioning clients into managed service following projects and from other suppliers
  • Projects - Upgrades, Migrations, Lift and Shift On-premises to OCI/Cloud
  • Experience in database upgrades and EBS point release upgrades

Desirable Skills:

  • Hands on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and supporting OCI PaaS applications and databases
  • RAC and ASM
  • Single Sign On
  • Linux Administration
  • Migrations: on-premises to OCI, Legacy Migration and Hardware Migration
  • EBS version upgrades (R12.1 to R12.2)
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and PeopleSoft applications
