Overview

Lead Frontend Engineer - Java & Open Source (Private & FS) at Version 1. This role involves leading frontend development efforts, collaborating with product, architecture, and UX teams, and guiding best practices across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Experience leading teams and managing key stakeholders across the engineering team, including Architects, Product Owners and UX designers, translating written requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop interfaces for web and mobile applications and deliver high-quality, efficient, reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Collaborate to articulate end-to-end architecture and (non-)functional design.
  • Take ownership of the Frontend digital and software platform.
  • Ensure adherence to Version 1’s Agile process and framework.
  • Instill and champion best practices within the team, including TDD, code reviews, and pair programming.
  • Mentor junior team members and share expertise across the wider team.
  • Design flexible and configurable software components.
  • Produce well-designed, testable, maintainable, secure, and efficient code.

Qualifications

  • Extensive background in front-end development with significant experience using ReactJS and JavaScript (ES6+); familiarity with Next.js/Angular/Vue.js is beneficial.
  • Experience with mobile development frameworks like React Native is beneficial.
  • Experience in unit testing with Jest.
  • Experience in technical leadership and mentoring a team of engineers, guiding architecture, code quality, and best practices for high-performing, maintainable applications.
  • Experience with GraphQL with React for data fetching and state management is preferred.
  • Continuous Integration experience (Docker).
  • Experience deploying solutions on AWS Cloud is beneficial (AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect preferred).
  • A passion for coding and staying up to date with new technologies, frameworks, and techniques.
  • Extensive experience in an Agile environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact with clients and onsite/near-shore development teams.
