We are seeking a highly skilled Power Platform / D365 Solution Architect who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and leading development teams for solutions based on both Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 CE (D365) projects. This role requires a breadth of knowledge across the platforms, covering multiple solutions such as Model-driven and Canvas applications, Power Pages, D365 CE applications (Sales, Customer Service, Customer Insights). The role involves leading the planning, design, estimation, development, and implementation of solutions, ensuring they are scalable, robust, and maintainable, while working with development teams and directly with customers.
Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Architecture: Design and implement comprehensive solutions using Power Platform and D365, translating business needs into technical specifications.
- Development Leadership: Lead development teams in implementing solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices and established patterns.
- Integration & Customisation: Design and implement integrations between the MS platform and other systems using APIs or third-party solutions. Customise solutions with workflows, plugins, and scripts and understand when customisation is relevant or suitable.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, high-level and detailed designs, configuration, and user guides.
- Training & Workshops: Conduct training sessions and workshops for end-users and technical staff.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee the management of solutions throughout the application lifecycle.
- Code Review & Best Practices: Provide technical leadership by conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Mentoring: Mentor and train junior developers and team members.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, introducing wider use of copilot and AI and implement enhancements to maximise efficiency.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Architecture Experience: Demonstrated experience leading the design and development of solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (including Canvas, Model-driven, and Power Pages) and Dynamics 365, with expertise in associated ALM strategies. Experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise scale solutions.
- Customisation & Workflows: Experience customising Power Platform and D365 solutions using Power Automate workflows, .NET plugins, and JavaScript.
- Integrations: Experience integrating Power Platform and D365 with APIs or third-party solutions.
- Microsoft Stack Expertise: Strong knowledge of the Microsoft stack (.NET, JavaScript, ASP.NET, C#) for plugins, workflows, and custom integrations.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working within Agile and DevOps teams. Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and backlog/progress tracking.
- Non-Functional Requirements: Ability to define and demonstrate experience with non-functional requirements.
- Testing: Experience working with testing strategies and tools for Power Platform and D365 solutions.
- Customer Engagement: Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise directly with customers to gather and refine requirements.
- SC Clearance Eligibility: Eligible for SC clearance (5 years address history in the UK).
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- UI/UX Design: Experience designing solutions with a focus on UI/UX and accessibility.
- Wider Microsoft Ecosystem: Experience with the broader Microsoft 365 platform, including SharePoint, Teams, and Forms, configuring and deploying Power BI solutions.
- Governance: Experience delivering implementations through Success by Design or Power Platform Well-Architected.
- Azure PaaS & Integration Services: Experience with Microsoft Azure PaaS and integration services.
- Certifications: Microsoft certifications (PL-600 and any of MB-910, MB-200, MB-210, MB-230, MB-240, and/or PL-900, PL-100, PL-200, PL-400, PL-700, AZ-900).
