Role Summary

We are seeking a commercially driven and domain-informed Business Development Director to expand our Capital Markets footprint across UK and EMEA. This individual will drive pipeline growth, build C-level relationships, and lead go-to-market execution across key capital markets segments including Prime Brokerage, Equities & Fixed Income Trading, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Liquidity Services, and Alternative Investments.

The role requires deep understanding of capital markets value chains, modern technology ecosystems, and the ability to position consulting and technology solutions that address business transformation, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Account & Pipeline Development: Identify and qualify target accounts in capital markets aligned to key service offerings. Develop account strategies and pursuit plans across front-, middle-, and back-office areas. Drive origination of high-value opportunities with Tier 2 and Tier 3 capital markets institutions.
  • GTM Execution & Solution Positioning: Partner with domain architects and delivery leaders to co-create tailored solutions. Lead customer workshops, proposals, and orals for transformation-led engagements. Present complex propositions across AI/ML, cloud migration, data modernization, and regulatory alignment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management: Build trusted relationships with COOs, Heads of Trading, CIOs, and Risk/Compliance leaders. Represent the firm at capital markets industry events, forums, and client briefings.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Track industry shifts, macroeconomic drivers, and regulatory updates across the UK and EMEA. Analyse competitor positioning and identify whitespace for differentiated market entry.
  • Collaboration & Enablement: Collaborate with marketing, practices, and alliance teams to generate thought leadership and demand. Mentor junior team members and support internal capital markets sales enablement.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 12–15 years of business development or sales experience in financial services, with 5+ years focused on capital markets.
  • Strong network across buy-side and sell-side institutions in UK or Europe.
  • Proven track record in selling consulting, digital transformation, or platform modernization deals.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Calypso, Broadridge, Murex, Bloomberg, Snowflake, and Markit EDM is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of key regulations (MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, Dodd-Frank, Basel III) and their impact on technology spend.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/master’s in business, Finance, or Technology.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), data & analytics tools, and regulatory tech.
  • Experience selling to Tier 2 & Tier 3 investment banks, asset managers, or Fintechs.
