We are currently recruiting for an Operational Tooling and Automation Manager to join our thriving managed service practice. The framework is continually evolving to ensure we are always delivering next generation services. Technology plays a key part in providing the underlying platform and capabilities.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and Manage the ASPIRE GSC Operational tooling function, including the ITSM Practice, Event Management and Automation / AI functions.
  • The role will involve the design and transformation of our technology environment, to deliver superior automation, user experiences and integration across various platforms.
  • Own the architecture of our ASPIRE Managed Services tooling estate, ensuring compliance, effective governance and best-practices are applied.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including senior management, IT teams, and Version 1 Consulting Practices, to understand requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, and secure technical designs.
  • Define and own the end-to-end product roadmap associated with the variety of ITSM, event management and automation tooling which form part of the ASPIRE Managed Services environment.
  • Leading the creation of innovative solutions to address market problems, whilst driving automation in all elements of operational tooling, as part of Version 1's AI Native programme.
  • Ensure all tooling is enabled and full capability is exploited to support the efficient and effective delivery of service both internally and to Version 1 customers.
  • Identifying and measuring the success criteria for each delivered feature, driving a return on technology investments.
  • Involvement in pre-sales engagements, providing input to bid response / tender documentation.
  • Ensure tooling currency, compliance, health and security.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
  • Manage the tooling budget, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive architectural designs for technology solutions, considering factors such as automation, integration, scalability, performance and security.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of technical designs and implementations to ensure compliance with architectural standards and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience working on, analysing, building, marketing, training and launching features and products.
  • Experience devising goal-oriented roadmaps, gaining buy-in from stakeholders and breaking down goals into small pieces of value-delivering work.
  • Experience implementing appropriate tools/standards/techniques for business analysis and requirements gathering.
  • Facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders, negotiating conflicting viewpoints and achieving buy-in for new initiatives.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience in budget management.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of relevant technologies and architecture concepts.
  • Proven track record of improving technology processes and effectiveness through automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT architecture principles, methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels in the organisation.
  • Technology experience, aligned to; ServiceNow, Cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure and Oracle), Azure monitoring / Application insights, Azure analytics, AWS monitoring / CloudWatch, Event Management solutions (e.g. Opsview), AIOPs.
