Senior Kotlin Developer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Kotlin Developer to join our UK Digital & Cloud Practice.
The role involves designing, developing, testing and maintaining cloud-based software applications and providing technical leadership within a fast-growing team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain scalable, secure cloud-based microservices and message-driven architectures using Kotlin, Spring Boot, Hibernate and related technologies.
- Lead a small team, coaching junior developers and fostering collaboration across development, product, testing and operations teams.
- Own technical product ownership: architecture design, estimation, shaping, user-story creation, and documentation (architecture, releases, hand-overs).
- Deliver code that follows industry best practices β CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, SOLID/DRY principles, and secure coding standards.
- Coordinate and manage the delivery of projects using Agile/PM methods, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Engage with stakeholders (PMs, BAs, product owners, customers) to translate technical concepts into clear documentation and presentations.
- Continually improve processes and share knowledge, including emerging AI and cloud technologies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Kotlin developer delivering production applications.
- Strong grasp of modern architectural patterns (microservices, message-driven), non-functional requirements and deployment best practices.
- Hands-on development across front-end (Type Script, Node, Express. js) and back-end (Kotlin, Spring Boot, Hibernate).
- Experience with estimation, sizing, API design, CI/CD, code reviews and SOLID/DRY principles.
- Deep understanding of coding best practices and security, and ability to produce scalable, maintainable code.
- Experience in Agile delivery and technical ownership of a product or solution.
- SC Clearance or SC Eligible status (required for government client work).
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical topics to audiences of varying technical knowledge.
