You may have been working as a Test Engineer, Cloud Test Engineer, or Platform Test Engineer with experience validating cloud hosted platforms and services in secure or regulated environments. You are comfortable working across infrastructure, integration, and quality assurance activities and you understand what it takes to test systems that need to be resilient, secure, and operationally ready before they go into production.
Responsibilities
- Test and assurance activities across cloud native platforms, infrastructure, deployments, and platform configurations running in secure GCP and private cloud environments.
- Validate integrations, service interactions, and platform behaviour under realistic conditions, including resilience and failure scenarios.
- Contribute to automated testing and continuous testing practices within CI/CD pipelines.
- Support integration, operational readiness, and deployment assurance activities ahead of release.
- Perform defect analysis, root cause investigation, and feed findings back into continuous improvement.
- Contribute to testing standards, tooling decisions, and quality engineering approaches across delivery teams.
- Support compliance, audit, and accreditation evidence requirements within secure delivery environments.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Test Engineer, Cloud Test Engineer, or Platform Test Engineer with a track record of testing cloud hosted or cloud native platforms and services.
- Practical experience working within secure, regulated, or government delivery environments and an understanding of the testing approach, tooling constraints, and assurance requirements in those settings.
- Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps delivery practices and how testing fits within them.
- Familiarity with GCP or equivalent cloud platforms, including how infrastructure, platform services, and applications interact.
- Understanding of Kubernetes, containerised platforms, and Infrastructure as Code concepts such as Terraform – enough to test against them meaningfully.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment approaches, and how automated testing integrates into them.
- Broad coverage across functional, integration, regression, and non‑functional testing approaches.
- API and service testing experience, including the ability to validate service interactions and data integrity.
- Ability to analyse defects and quality risks within complex, multi‑component environments and communicate findings clearly.
- Awareness of secure software delivery, operational assurance, and resilience testing principles.
- Based within commuting distance of London and available to work on site at the client office three days per week.
- Resident in the UK for five or more years with no more than 30 days per year out of the UK to meet Security Clearance (SC) eligibility, or currently holding SC or above; willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) is required for this role.
- Exposure to Google Distributed Cloud or air‑gapped private cloud environments is a significant advantage, as is experience with performance, resilience, or security testing and any Google Cloud or testing related certifications.
