My client is seeking an accomplished Pricing Manager to lead and drive the pricing strategy within our portfolio. This strategic leadership role is responsible for overseeing the performance of the pricing portfolio, ensuring sustainable profitability, optimising risk selection, and driving data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will lead a team of pricing analysts, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and have a direct impact on portfolio strategy and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimisation of pricing strategies across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee portfolio performance management, analysing key metrics such as AP/TP ratio, RMI, AvEs, development triangles, and loss ratio performance.
- Develop and maintain advanced pricing models, including GLM, GBM, and other machine learning techniques, to support risk assessment and pricing decisions.
- Collaborate with underwriting, product development, and actuarial teams to refine pricing approaches and product offerings.
- Monitor portfolio profitability, identify emerging risks, and drive strategic actions to enhance performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pricing analysts, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Present pricing insights, model outcomes, and strategic recommendations to senior management and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure pricing governance, compliance, and model validation processes are effectively managed.
- Leverage advanced data analytics to identify trends, optimise pricing decisions, and drive business value.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in pricing, portfolio management, or actuarial roles within General Insurance, with a strong focus on pricing strategy.
- Proven experience in leading pricing teams, including mentoring and performance management.
- Advanced expertise in technical pricing model development, including GLM, GBM, and machine learning techniques.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis with expertise in SQL, R, and data visualisation tools.
- Exposure to Java is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of portfolio performance metrics (AP/TP ratio, RMI, AvEs, development triangles) and their application.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
