Job overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to join our Estates team. You will be a qualified Electrical or Mechanical Technician with substantial practical experience and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working as part of a shift system and participating in the On-Call rota, you will undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, breakdown response, and job requests across a wide range of Estates plant and systems. Your expertise will help ensure the Trust's critical services remain operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge of Estates equipment and systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex maintenance activities while escalating significant issues appropriately when required.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Technician will be able to effectively advise, instruct and train colleagues, and other groups, in the safe operation of equipment and systems.
Be able to liaise with Trust staff to discuss Estates work related issues and provide concise and detailed responses both verbally and in writing.
You will be able to communicate complex technical and safety advice effectively with a wide range of groups including department colleagues, other Trust staff groups, contractors, patients, and the general public, particularly in a potential emergency situation. This may be delivered as formal training, or informally as part of the Senior Technicians daily routine, but will always ensure compliance with all recognised safety standards and procedures.
Effectively communicate with all levels of Trust Staff in regard to maintenance and repair arrangements and schedules in order to underpin the smooth and efficient running of the Trust and maintain continuity of care to patients

- An approved apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
