We're working with a leading City of London law firm to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary on a part-time, 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting their Banking, Governance & Corporate team.
With over 150 years of heritage and offices across London, Leeds, Birmingham, and Colchester, our client is a full-service firm acting for clients ranging from multi-national corporations to private individuals, charities, housing associations, and Regulators. With around 350 employees and a growing international reach, they're known for the quality of work across Commercial/Corporate, Civil Litigation, Housing, Employment, Real Estate and Projects & Property Development.
The Role
You'll provide comprehensive secretarial support to partners and solicitors within the Banking, Governance & Corporate team, helping the department meet client expectations and deliver to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Audio and copy typing, document processing and formatting
- Diary management for partners
- Producing bills and handling invoices
- Receiving client calls, routing them or taking messages
- Organising and maintaining accurate files, both hard copy and electronic
- General administrative support including archiving, filing, and photocopying
- Providing cover and support to other secretaries across the firm during busy periods
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years' experience in a similar legal secretarial role, ideally within a corporate team
- Confident touch typist with an ideal speed of 60+ wpm
- Strong audio and copy typing experience
- Advanced Word skills, including auto-formatting, numbering, bookmarks and track changes
- Proven track record of co-ordinating large documents in Word
- Competent across PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and internet applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Self-motivated with a proactive, professional approach
The Package
Part-time: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Fully office-based in London during 6-month probationary period
