CNBC is seeking an Audience Producer based in London, UK to join our U.S. newsroom. This role will help produce content for the CNBC social media accounts across Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Bluesky and Reddit for the early morning hours in the U.S. A main priority for this position will be to assist with our early‐morning video output, clipping and sharing big news, interviews and reporter packages from CNBC's broadcast.
The ideal candidate will have experience executing social strategy, creating compelling social video and graphics, and tracking engagement metrics to optimize content. This position requires vertical video editing skills, the ability to capture well‐composed videos on a phone or camera, impeccable spelling and grammar, attention to detail, a deep understanding of social media trends and what works on each platform, and passion for business news and personal finance stories.
The CNBC social media team is highly communicative, consistently staying in touch with the rest of the team and the broader newsroom via Slack or email to split up responsibilities. The ability to stay up‐to‐date on what is happening in the newsroom and promptly respond to requests is essential.
Experience in financial news coverage and breaking news is preferred.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Must be available to work 10am-6pm, and ability to work non‐traditional hours if there is a news event that requires coverage
- Clipping footage from CNBC's broadcast and editing it into a vertical format to promote across accounts
- Working with reporters to produce social‐first video content
- Identifying key moments from interviews to distribute across social, with the aim of driving the audience back to CNBC's website and broadcast
- Executing social strategy across platforms and helping manage day‐to‐day posting
- Creating graphics for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and other platforms
- Reviewing social analytics to determine posting strategies
- Staying ahead of digital trends, platform shifts, and emerging audience behaviors
- Collaborating with TV and Digital editorial teams to coordinate story promotion and platform strategy
- Writing in American English for all copy to remain consistent with CNBC's style
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in social media or audience development
- Excellent news judgement, deep understanding of journalism standards, and the ability to work under tight deadlines
- Graphic design and video experience is required. Must be proficient in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop. Illustrator and After Effects skills are an added plus.
- Strong writing, grammar and copy‐editing skills
- Experience using CMS and analytics tools (e.g. Parse.ly/Chartbeat)
- Proven track record of growing social accounts for a major brand
- Experience working in business news
