We are looking for a Field Based Service Engineer covering all of Scotland, ideally situated in Mid Lothian, Glasgow. Working under minimum supervision, the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for helping maintain Customer vehicles to our high standards of repair. The role will entail working on 3.5T-7.0T commercial vans or chassis cab/Unimog truck vehicles or other vehicles as required. Occasionally working unsociable hours, early starts and late finishes being likely.
Responsibilities:
- Routine servicing of lifts.
- Carrying out LOLER examinations/inspections.
- Diagnosing and repairing faults on electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Completion of all relevant documentation pertaining to Services, Repairs and Inspections that have been carried out.
- Ensuring all work completed complies with relevant Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation and Policy.
- The completion of new product training when necessary.
- To keep vehicle clean and tidy meeting Health and Safety standards.
- The ability to train others.
- The completion of other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Company.
- Out of Hours Callout Rota.
Scope: The Field Service Engineer will need to have electrical and hydraulic experience, to provide on-site (Customer’s premises) technical expertise and support and to be able to deal with any corrective or preventative works. Delivering an excellent customer service whilst maintaining a professional approach to customers and colleagues at all times.
Hours of Work: Your normal contractual hours of work are 40 per week: - 7.00am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday. Hours and days of work may be subject to alteration depending upon the requirements of the business and you will be required to be completely flexible about your working hours and days. A fully equipped Company vehicle and uniform will be provided along with 24 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays.

- Proven working experience as a Field Service Engineer
- Hydraulic and Electrical experience
- Mobile Elevated Work Platforms experience
- Electrical Qualification
- Mechanical Engineering Qualification
- Good Customer Service Skills
- Be able to work on their own initiative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
