We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a well-established construction business. Based at the Cardiff office with regular site travel, the role supports operational teams to deliver projects safely, compliantly, and in line with best practice. Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in driving high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance across multiple construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the central point of contact for health and safety across allocated projects
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project-specific RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, and COSHH assessments
  • Support compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM)
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews
  • Provide clear, practical health and safety advice to site and project teams
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Produce reports and recommend corrective and preventative actions
  • Support Contract and Site Managers in implementing safe systems of work
  • Liaise with clients, Principal Designers, and other stakeholders on H&S matters
  • Identify health, safety, and environmental training requirements
  • Support monitoring and tracking of workforce competence
  • Promote a positive Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) culture

Skills & Experience – Essential

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within the construction industry
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of construction processes and technical drawings
  • Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Desirable

  • IOSH Membership
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification
  • Construction trade background or significant industry experience
