A well-established and growing brickwork contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee health, safety and compliance across multiple live construction sites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong construction experience, particularly within brickwork or masonry, who enjoys being visible on site and working closely with operational teams to maintain the highest safety standards.

The Role

  • Carrying out regular site inspections and health & safety audits.
  • Identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Monitoring compliance with company procedures and UK health & safety legislation.
  • Producing detailed inspection reports and action plans.
  • Preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Advising on safe systems of work for brickwork operations.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Identifying root causes and recommending preventative measures.
  • Delivering toolbox talks and site safety inductions.
  • Monitoring training records and workforce competency.
  • Maintaining health & safety documentation and site records.
  • Assisting with PQQ submissions and accreditation requirements.
  • Attending client and principal contractor meetings.
  • Supporting external audits and promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Monitoring legislative changes and ensuring continued compliance.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential).
  • IOSH qualification and/or IOSH membership desirable.
  • Previous Health & Safety experience within construction.
  • Knowledge of brickwork or masonry operations would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel to sites across the South West and South Wales.
