The Opportunity
An established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of general building, refurbishment and small works projects across the South West.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and client-focused construction professional who is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from reactive works and planned maintenance through to refurbishment, fit-out and minor construction projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple live projects across a range of sectors.
- Oversee works from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Monitor project programmes, budgets and resources.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Attend client meetings and conduct regular site visits.
- Identify and manage risks, opportunities and variations.
- Produce project reports and forecasts.
- Drive quality, customer satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within the construction industry.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent small works, refurbishment or general building projects.
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of construction processes, health & safety and project delivery.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
