Vero Recruitment has been exclusively engaged to recruit an operationally focused Finance Manager, to be based in Aberdeen.
Who is our client: Our client is an international energy services business, operating at the forefront of their industry sector. With operations spanning multiple continents and dozens of operational bases, the business supports customers across the energy industry (including renewable energy), providing a highly integrated service offering that combines engineered products with critical operational services.
The opportunity: This is a high-profile Finance Manager role created at a pivotal point in the company’s evolution following major investment. Reporting to the regional Head of Finance, the role provides financial leadership across the operating company, partnering closely with senior operational, commercial and functional leaders to ensure delivery of objectives aligned to wider Group strategy. The position offers exposure to a complex, international operating environment, regular interaction with senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping financial insight, governance and performance as the business continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full ownership of monthly management reporting for the MENA operating company
- Production of timely, high-quality management accounts with clear financial commentary and KPI insight
- Leadership of the annual budget and forecasting cycle, ensuring alignment with Group expectations
- Act as a trusted finance partner to senior management, supporting strategic and operational decision-making
- Financial modelling, scenario and sensitivity analysis to support investment decisions, tenders and commercial negotiations
- Active participation in monthly business performance reviews
- Ownership of cashflow forecasting, cash planning and debt management
- Oversight of statutory reporting, audit processes and regulatory compliance
- Ensure strong internal controls, governance and audit closure
- Management of direct and indirect tax submissions across the MENA entities
- Support Group tax initiatives and ad-hoc projects
- Lead, develop and mentor the regional finance team
- Identify and deliver process improvements across finance and the wider business
- Promote a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement
Person Specification:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a similar Senior Accountant or Finance Manager role
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to operate as a true business partner
- Experience within an international or multi-site environment highly advantageous
- Demonstrated people leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Resilient, self-motivated and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
