We are working as the internal recruitment partner for our client, a global organisation providing specialist supply chain solutions to the aerospace industry. Due to continued growth and international expansion, we are seeking a Network Planning Manager to join the business in a brand-new role. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop the planning function, acting as the link between Sales, Procurement, Operations, Inventory, and Compliance teams to ensure the business is equipped to meet current and future demand.
Reporting to the Group Head of Operations, you will take ownership of network planning, forecasting, inventory strategy, capacity planning, and operational performance. You will translate sales forecasts and procurement activity into clear operational plans, resource requirements, and infrastructure in place to support its global operations. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact, building planning models, introducing best practice, and driving continuous improvement across a growing international business.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement network planning strategies to support operational and business growth objectives.
- Translate demand forecasts into operational plans, ensuring resources and capacity align with business requirements.
- Lead network modelling, optimisation, and scenario planning activities.
- Monitor inbound and outbound operational volumes across multiple global locations.
- Drive inventory planning initiatives, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Develop reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics to monitor operational performance.
- Analyse operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Sales, Finance, IT, and Compliance teams to align business priorities.
- Support continuous improvement projects focused on planning accuracy, inventory control, and operational efficiency.
- Manage and develop a small team, providing leadership and direction across planning and operational support functions.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience in network planning, operations planning, supply chain planning, or a similar strategic operational role.
- Strong management experience with the ability to lead and develop teams.
- Experience building planning models, forecasting processes, or operational frameworks from the ground up.
- Strong understanding of warehousing, inventory management, and operational processes.
- Experience translating demand forecasts into practical operational plans.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
- Experience working cross-functionally with multiple business functions and senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Experience within logistics, distribution, aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or a complex supply chain environment would be highly advantageous.
