We are working with a fast‑growing FX and international payments business, supporting UK and international corporate clients with currency exchange and global payments. Founded by two co‑owners, the business has achieved impressive growth in a short space of time and is now planning ahead for its next phase of scale. As part of this growth, they are expanding their Operations team and are looking to hire a Settlements Executive to support increasing client volumes and transaction activity. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high‑performing, collaborative business where you’ll gain real responsibility, structured training, and long‑term career progression within financial services.
As a Settlements Executive, you’ll sit within the Operations team and play a critical role in ensuring client payments are processed accurately and on time. Once a deal has been agreed by the sales team, you’ll take ownership of the funds in / funds out process, making sure payments are authorised correctly, beneficiary details are verified, and transactions are accurately recorded across internal systems. You’ll work closely with both clients (via phone and email) and internal teams, resolving payment queries, investigating issues, and ensuring a smooth end‑to‑end payment experience. This role requires strong numerical ability, attention to detail, and the confidence to handle high‑value transactions in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll be fully trained on the company’s internal systems and processes, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build or develop a career within FX, payments, or financial operations.
In particular, you will:
- Manage funds in and funds out, ensuring accurate allocation of client money
- Authorise and submit payments, following internal controls and procedures
- Verify beneficiary details and update bank information accurately
- Act as a point of contact for client and internal payment‑related queries
- Log and reconcile FX trades across internal systems daily
- Investigate and escape payment issues where necessary
- Work closely with colleagues across Operations and Sales
- Support reporting and assist with system testing and updates
(Previous experience in FX, payments, or financial services is beneficial but not essential — full training is provided.)
Essential skills and Experience:
- Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail
- Confidence communicating with clients by phone and email
- Comfortable working with systems, spreadsheets, and internal platforms
- Organised, methodical, and calm under pressure
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
In return we are offering:
- A highly competitive salary between £27,000 - £35,000 depending on skills and experience.
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increases with service up to 25 days).
- Extra day of annual leave to celebrate your birthday.
- Subsidised gym membership.
- Season ticket loan.
- Health insurance.
- Life insurance.
