As Head of Engineering & Technical, you will lead a specialist team of subject matter experts across Electrical, Mechanical, and Controls disciplines, driving the development and implementation of robust operational engineering standards across the organisation.

As a key member of Verne’s Operational Senior Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in embedding standardisation, consistency, and efficiency across all engineering activities. You will establish and maintain clear, scalable processes and procedures that are both operationally practical and capable of meeting the rigorous expectations of hyperscale customers.

Customer focus is central to this role. You will work directly with hyperscale clients as a trusted technical partner, providing leadership on engineering matters, resolving complex technical challenges, and ensuring alignment on operational standards and performance expectations.

You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, particularly Design & Engineering and Development, to ensure that operational requirements are fully integrated into new builds and expansions. This includes influencing design decisions and ensuring seamless transition from construction into operations.

In addition, you will work alongside Testing and Commissioning teams to ensure all systems are validated, compliant, and meet defined operational and performance criteria.

Acting as the primary point of contact for operational engineering matters, you will lead the response to technical issues and challenges, ensuring timely resolution, continuous improvement, and the ongoing reliability and resilience of critical infrastructure.
