Right to work in UK only.

We're recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing AI and automation SaaS company for a Data Migration Engineer to join their growing migrations team.

About the Role

This is a fully remote role sitting within the data migrations team, working closely with the migrations product manager and lead migration engineers. You'll own the day-to-day delivery of customer data migrations onto the platform, working with established migration frameworks on repeatable migrations, while also helping build out new migration types with support from senior engineers as you grow into the role.

You'll handle complex customer data: transforming, validating, and troubleshooting issues across the migration flow. You'll also communicate directly with internal teams and, where needed, join customer calls to explain technical points and support delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of data migrations into the platform, ensuring accuracy and quality
  • Work across both established and new migration types, becoming increasingly self-sufficient
  • Transform, validate, and troubleshoot complex customer datasets
  • Liaise with internal teams and customers, including joining calls to explain technical issues
  • Feed back edge cases, documentation gaps, and process improvements to the team owning migration architecture

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong Python skills (this is a backend-focused role)
  • Confidence working with AWS services, particularly DynamoDB, S3, containers, and ECS
  • Solid understanding of APIs and endpoint-based integrations, including working with unfamiliar external systems and documentation
  • Working knowledge of SQL

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with AWS Lambda and streams
  • Basic frontend awareness (jQuery or Svelte)
  • Exposure to FTP/SFTP-based export retrieval
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, recruitment systems, or adjacent operational software
  • Previous customer-facing technical work or integration-heavy experience

What We're Looking For

Our client is looking for someone who is genuinely comfortable with structured, repeatable, process-driven work rather than seeking constant novelty. You'll be highly detail-oriented and diligent, with a strong sense of integrity and the patience to check data thoroughly and spot risks or edge cases. You'll be independent and reliable in your execution, while knowing when to escalate or ask for review, and you'll manage your time well against fixed deadlines and rolling delivery pressures.

Interview Process

A two-stage process: an initial 30-minute conversation to discuss background and experience, followed by a one-hour technical interview including a take-home exercise.

Benefits

  • 25 days annual leave plus public holidays
  • MacBook plus any additional tech or software you need
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Private Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (Aviva)
  • Income Protection Insurance
  • Extended mental health cover and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Compassionate leave policy
  • Private pension contributions (Royal London)
  • Monthly company social events and regular in-person hackathons
