Game Developer with a Purpose at re-Action Health Technologies

Volunteer Role | Remote | Equity stake on product launch

About re-Action Health Technologies

Every 3 seconds, someone in the world is diagnosed with dementia. re-Action Health Technologies is building an evidence-based, AI-powered gaming platform to slow dementia progression, combining physical activity, cognitive stimulation, social engagement, and wellbeing support in one accessible product. Now we're looking for a game developer who wants to be part of something that genuinely matters.

The opportunity

This is a volunteer role and is unpaid at this stage. In return, you'll receive a meaningful equity stake that activates once the product reaches commercial use, sharing in the success you help build. This is a genuine co-founder-adjacent opportunity for someone who wants to own their contribution.

What you'll be doing

  • Design and develop accessible, engaging games tailored for people living with dementia and their carers
  • Collaborate with our Co-Founders to embed clinical evidence into gameplay
  • Integrate machine learning and data-driven feedback loops that personalise the experience for each user
  • Iterate based on real-world testing, our prototypes have already been trialled with users, carers, and clinical partners
  • Work closely with a passionate team of co-founders who care deeply about what they're building

What we're looking for

  • Experience in game development (any engine or framework — Unity, Unreal, Godot, web-based, or otherwise)
  • A genuine passion for using technology to help people, especially those living with dementia or other cognitive conditions
  • Ability to design for accessibility and non-traditional user groups such as older adults and people with cognitive challenges
  • A self-starter mindset, comfortable in an early-stage startup environment
  • Strong communication skills to work across a small, multidisciplinary founding team

Nice to have: experience with AI/ML integration, health tech, or working with clinical partners. Passion and drive matter more than a perfect CV.

Who you'll work with

You'll join a small, close-knit founding team with deep expertise across clinical dementia care, product development, and business scaling:

  • CEO & Founder
  • Chief Research Officer
  • Chief Marketing Officer
  • Chief Product Manager

We take the mission seriously, and each other. Expect genuine collaboration, honest conversations, and the kind of work you'll still be proud of in ten years.

Why this matters

Studies underpinning our four-pillar approach show up to 79% learning memory improvement, 64% physical performance gains, and 43% reduction in depression symptoms in people living with dementia. You won't just be writing code, you'll be changing lives.
